IAFP’s European Symposium 2025 was held between 6-8 May 2025 in Madrid, Spain.
IAFP’s European Symposium has been shaping the future of food safety by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas with colleagues from across Europe working in industry, government, and academia.
The Symposium was an excellent forum to gain knowledge about the latest developments and techniques in food science and safety.
The symposium program is available here.
THEROS project was represented during the symposium through its partner ELGO, and Mrs Chrysoyla Tassou, who submitted an abstract along with Christina Kamarinou, Olga Papadopoulou, Natasa Kapetanakou, and Anthoula Argyri , entitled “Detection of organic apple juice fraud by HPLC and FTIR spectroscopy“.
The abstract was presented in the form of a poster.
Abstract is available here.
Poster is available here.
ELGO team explored the use of rapid spectroscopic tools such as FTIR, along with HPLC analysis of organic acids, to effectively distinguish between organic and non-organic apple juices. These findings represent a valuable step forward in the fight against food fraud, offering practical tools to ensure transparency and authenticity in the food supply chain. THEROS parter Organic Control System kindly provided the organic samples!
