The Food Analytics Conference 2025 was conducted between 10–11 November 2025 at the University of Copenhagen, in the historic “Festsalen” at Frue Plads. The conference brought together leading food scientists and industry experts from around the world to present and discuss cutting-edge research in the application of analytical technologies that drive improvements in sustainability, quality, and safety in food production.

Building on its strong tradition, the conference featured keynote presentations, research talks, and panel discussions showcasing innovative analytical approaches shaping the future of food science and technology.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Nils Foss Prize 2025, honoring outstanding contributions to innovation in food analysis:

  • Excellence Prize: €100,000

  • Talent Prize: €10,000

These awards recognize researchers whose work has led to remarkable advancements in the sustainability, quality, and safety of the global food supply chain.

As in previous years, the conference was hosted by the University of Copenhagen and sponsored by FOSS Analytical A/S, whose ongoing support helps foster international collaboration and scientific excellence in food analytics.

The THEROS project was represented by AuTH colleagues from the SPECTRA lab, who showcased their work through a poster presentation entitled “Real-time detection of turmeric adulteration with metanil yellow using a miniaturized NIR sensor and AI techniques“. Their poster is accessible here.
